I made this Edublogs site back in June of 2008, with the intention of finding a job where I could teach Creative Writing. With more and more arts programs being removed from schools to make room for testing and athletics, my dreams are weakening, and students are receiving fewer opportunities to think “outside the box” than ever before. My dream has been to involve students in the art of writing, while enabling them to express themselves in ways that public schooling hasn’t allowed them to.

I plan to meet with a group of you on a semi-regular basis to assist you in building your talents and helping you grow to be better people. This blog will be used as a medium for the group: for sharing ideas, posting “assignments,” and interacting with myself and each other. There are few better feelings than those which come from feeling that you are part of something, and that without you, that something is broken or incomplete. We will be relying on each other to make this work. I am looking forward to doing some fun activities.

If you are viewing this page, you must either be a student checking for assignments, or just a lucky visitor who happened to stumble upon this awesome class. Take a moment to look around and get used to the place. It’s not exactly roomy, but it should give you a feel-good vibe, and should set the tone for the perfect writing atmosphere. While you’re waiting, you could check out a few of my links in order to get to know me a little better.
